As the COVID-19 response continues to evolve, we want to be prepared. We are currently establishing a list of caring individuals who would be willing to help out if the need arises. As front-line organizations put out calls for volunteers, we will, with your consent, share your contact information with those organizations looking for help. We know through experience that this will be the quickest way to connect those wanting to help with those looking for help.
EVERYONE HAS AN IMPORTANT ROLE TO PLAY
We currently have high demand for volunteer rolls such as:
Compassion calls to check-in on those who are self-isolated
Drivers to deliver essential supplies (meals/groceries etc.)
Information calls to check-in on charities, non-profits and grassroots groups on the front-lines.
Writers to help with external communications
No one likes the feeling of loneliness.
The Adopt a Grandparent Program hopes to combat the loneliness of local seniors while supporting secondary students who are feeling the same way or looking to volunteer.
If you are a student wanting to make a connection - sign-up now through Gigit student to take part in this new pilot program.
